A true passion for midwifery
Angela Love has been working as a Certified Nurse Midwife since 2004, completely out of the hospital. She worked 5 years at a busy birth center which did 30-40 births per month.
Since 2010, Angela's averaged 4 births per month at her own homebirth practice. She has helped increase the homebirth rate in Indian River County from 0.5% to 2.5% in 2014. As of November 2016, she’s attended 758 births as the primary midwife.
For years, Angela has been a resource for licensed midwives across the state of Florida. After teaching at a school for direct-entry midwifery for 6 years, she understands the scope and training of today’s modern midwives. She wants to help address gaps in our health care system so that all clients get quality care.
Angela worked for 5 years as a nurse in maternity units across Miami. She understands the Western medical model of care, what hospitals want in a transfer situation, and what will improve relationships between hospital providers and out-of-hospital providers.
Angela is dedicated to improving maternity and women’s health care, and she is devoted to training the next generation of practitioners. She has precepted countless midwife students, nurse practitioner students, physician assistant students and nursing students. She even offers interested high school students to shadow her for 1 week.
